CURRENTLY ON EP 23
- the concept of hero agencies being established as a way to encourage competition and prevent one singular hero from gaining too much trust is very clever
- interesting commentary on capitalism, reminiscent of Edgerunners
- Queen in the ruins incident felt like a bit of a deus ex machina?
- good thing is we knew it was going to happen since it was previewed in an earlier episode
- also not enough payoff for the ruins given how much setup there was
- still don’t know why a sheng was killed? was it because of the material, or something else?
- but they didn’t even know about it back then, did they?
- Rock’s motives are more clear now:
- Clear out the “old heroes” of the top 10 so Dragon Boy can become the new Zero
- this is why YC was recruited to take out Old E-Soul
- Clear out the “old heroes” of the top 10 so Dragon Boy can become the new Zero
- What exactly does Shand mean when he says Nice’s persona was crafted by fear?
- is he referencing Wreck/the Fear monsters that are basically staged for nice?
- Ghostblade is for sure the most compelling character even with no dialogue
- his backstory was perfect, the art/sound/score really portrayed his tortuous childhood really well
- E22: the nice ballet sequence with shand as the puppeteer was really well done
