Total time taken to edit: 4-5 hours?
I think I actually spent more time figuring out how to make the text zoom with the background than actually putting the edit together (both around 2 hrs…). But for future reference, here’s the workflow:
- Open the relevant clip in Fusion.
- Use “Planar Tracker” to track some surface in the video. If we just need zoom, we can just select “TRS” for the tracker settings.
- To zoom some text along with this, we can choose “Corner Pin” to place a screen into the background.
- Also to make the text appear between the background and the foreground, we have to make a copy of the video with the background removed. I used wide.video for this, but there might be a better alternative to this in the future.
Also, dissolves (cross/dip to color) seem to be pretty nice for soft songs like this!
